Selling your art work
- Art to be auctioned must have YES circled on the Artwork ID form, and include minimum bid price and the direct sale price.
- Artwork that goes to live auction will require an art work ID attached to it. There is room to fill out information about yourself and your artwork: the more information filled out, the more the auctioneer has to say about your artwork. This is a great way to let people know who/what your artwork is about. Artwork sells for more if people feel like they know the artist or the purpose of the artwork.
- If you sell your artwork with the direct sale option, the buyer reserves the right to retrieve their purchase early. We ask artists to leave all work displayed until Sunday morning as this helps promote the artist.
- If your artwork is not sold you are responsible for picking it up. Remember to check all times concerning art show and auction.
| Multiple Prints:
- Multiple prints can be sold as long is they are displayed on the panel.
- Only four prints per picture will be allowed.
- If you have several different works and you would like to sell multiples prints, we ask you sell them in the Artist alley.
- If an artwork leaves by direct sale and the new owner of the art work takes it with them, the artist may replace the empty spot with a new piece of art.
- An artist must notify art show staff of the replacement and receive the new ID for the piece.
|
Direct sale:
- Direct sale means your artwork can be sold to any buyer that meets the direct sale requirements.
- Direct sale allows people who cannot attend the auction to buy your art work. If your art work is purchased by direct sale it will not go to auction.
- Your direct sale price should be priced higher than your minimum bid price.
- If your art work is not sold in auction then people may buy your art work for the direct sale price after the auction.
- If someone buys your artwork via direct sale, they will be given the option to leave it for display until Sunday.
- If this is not possible, they can take it with them and you are then allowed to hang a replacement.
- Your art work may have a minimum bid and a direct sale price, but a direct sale price is not necessary.
|
Pricing your artwork
- Artwork that is framed or matted will sell for more.
- Original pieces sell for more.
- Minimum bid: the lowest amount of money you would sell a piece for. When considering a price always add your time and cost into this figure. Don't undersell yourself; you are worth your money. If your art work has been bid upon, it will not be sold as direct sell.
- If your art work has one bid it will be sold for the listed bid price as long as it meets the minimum bid requirements. If it has two it will be sold for the highest bid. If your art work has 3 bids it will go to live auction.

Flyers & Misc Info
Business cards or mini flyers:
- This idea has been very successful in promoting the artist. It allows people who are not buying art to get in contact with the artist later.
- Business cards or mini flyers can be printed off your computer and should be neatly trimmed.
- When displaying them on your panels, please bring a large binder clip or plastic bag so we can clip them to your panel.
- Make sure to bring plenty so our staff can refill them when needed. 100 business cards at this busy con only lasted three hours last year.
Show up after the live auction:
People love to have the artist sign or personalize the artwork they have purchased. By doing this you are building a fan base, and people at the convention love artists who are willing to do this.
