Greetings, Editors and Editrices.
The AMV Contest page has been updated with this year's deadline (ed: December 5th).
You'll also find a handful of tips that you might find helpful in maximizing your video's chances of being screened before The Staring, Judgmental Eyes of your Peers. Little things, sure, but commonly neglected.
Addendum: Email's a bit wonky at the moment, so if you haven't received a response from me regarding AMV-type-things, I can only throw myself upon your infinite patience and generosity, and hope that you believe I'll answer questions as soon as I can actually read them. Or, if you like, you can try asking here; aside from myself, there are also quite a few very AMV-savvy folk about who may be able to help you out.
The rules said to avoid mainstream american stuff like disney, but I was wondering if I could do a Kingdom Hearts amv?
I already made the amv, I just finsihed yesterday. There are no disney characters in my amv, I only used characters that were introduced in the Kingdom Hearts series such as Sora, Namine, and a few organization 13 members. I believe that these characters are owned by Square Enix and not disney.
Looking forward to another great contest this year! :)
We've received plenty of Kingdom Hearts videos in the past; they're fine.
In other news, my email woes have now been remedied, so feel free to send me your questions.
im new to AMV contests. this will be my first time actually entering one. and i would like to know what the format of sent AMVs is required? i would also like to wish evryone goodluck. especially me cuz i dont think ill even make it into the actuall veiwing. also which day the AMVs will be shown?
The rules have the different codecs listed that are accepted for the con. If you need help with compressing your file to one of these formats (divx, xvid, mpeg, etc.), send me a PM and I can help. :)
That Oct. deadline scared me a bit (kinda slow, I guess lol). Have to whip something up special for the contest. Good luck to everyone and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's videos!!

We should do an editor's lunch or something... It'll be nice to see you again, sir!
In a way, the October deadline was helpful. None of you reprobates ever turn anything in until the week before it's due, so this way, I get half of the entries early. Which is handy if someone's disc is corrupted or their video is otherwise borked, since I can get back to them in time to do something about it.
Its nice to see you entering/attending again...always like seeing what you put together.
And I dont think I've ever been called a reprobate before, but I can't deny its true lol...I will hopefully send something your way soon.
Whoot! I now have one more month to put together my video. Haha, can't wait to see yah all there. ^_^
