So -
if i can get a yes from Pheo/whoever is the bossman, this will be the sign up page. you know you want in on this fun. this has been a long time coming. long before all the contestants of anime idol at ikkicon invaded the stage for the pokemon theme song.
i require no experience or credentials to participate. the point of the choir is that it has a holiday feel to it despite the fact that we won't be singing christmas carols per ce. also, if you're apprehensive about singing solo onstage or have a beautiful but slightly weak or soft voice, you don't need to worry about any of that with a choir performance.
a few things:
1. we will most likely have ONE NIGHT to practice together. the preparations have to be done individually before the convention. if you live in the greater houston area, we can have practice sessions before the convention as well. so right here, right now, if you want in, post songs that you would suggest we can all sing as a group or would give good entertainment value. post them now, because once songs are approved, it is your duty to have a pretty good idea of how all the songs go come the day of the performance.
2. we will not have a terribly lengthy song list, so fret not about memorization of that nature. and i will find a way to make lyrics available/readable come performance night IF i find that the performers need them.
3. again - do NOT worry about experience/crazy skill and talent level. first off - it is a choir. find comfort in the number of voices that will surrounding yours and that should be enough to give all you've got. this should be no different than you and your friends spontaneously breaking out into song at random places and should be xxx times more fun.
4. the performers will most likely be broken into sets according to which songs they are most comfortable with singing, and there will be around 2 or three songs that absolutely everyone will sing. the sets will become obvious as the posts come in - when someone posts as a song that you want in on, just post back that you too want to participate in that song.
5. when you sign on here, please put on here your name or nickname so we don't have to refer to you as psychobillyfreakout41272. also, please put where you are coming from and what days you are coming so i have an idea as to when to schedule our practice session.
6. you do NOT necessarily have to be in a character costume of any sort, however, any outfit that has anime or gaming style is highly encouraged. go don some cat or bunny ears or a tail before the performance, for example. but don't get too stressed out about attire. i just pretty much would discourage clothing that's too too normal.
Please post -

Again, I'm no "bossman" for the approval of panels or anything regarding programming. I'm just running the on site logistics of the department, that is to say making sure panels follow their schedule.
That having been said, your safest bet would likely be to try using the Contact page. Sorry I can't be of more help.
