Anime Piracy

Who will be atttending the piracy panel hosted by Greg Aryes?

I will if I can find it.

Now's the most important time to visit an Anime Piracy panel, thanks to the crashing of Geneon. The anime industry in the United States is in the middle of a rough spot, and we're risking losing it. I'd say we owe it to ourselves to listen in.

I'll definitely watch that panel. It's a very important topic.

I went to it with a friend during Atsui-Con 2007 back in August, same exact panel, and it was really informative. I highly reccommend people to go check it out!

Having Nabeshin tell the crowd the hard truths was worth attending.

Dunno if anyone's still

Dunno if anyone's still paying attention to this thread, but here goes.

I wasn't able to attend this panel (can't remember why, I know I wanted to...) and have been intrigued at what I've heard about it. Would someone be willing/able to please give me an overview of what was covered? This is a very interesting topic and I'd love to be able to explain it thoroughly to a friend of mine (she, her siblings, and all their friends download their anime). I don't download anime anymore, haven't for years. The only reason I ever miss it is because I think some of the fan translations are better/less Americanized than industry translations. But, anyway, that's off topic. Again, anyone willing to give me a rundown of the panel?

Thanks!
